When your patient’s oral health has deteriorated to the point where full reconstruction of their teeth is required to restore their oral health, you can perform a full mouth rehabilitation treatment. Dr. Jason C. Campbell will discuss the best options for providing this treatment and assessing your patient’s condition and needs during your courses at Advanced Prosthetics Institute. Call 928-776-0239 today for more information on full mouth rehabilitation, and to register for your courses at our institute.
Full mouth rehabilitation, or full mouth reconstruction, involves restoring many or all the teeth in your patient’s mouth. It differs from a smile makeover treatment in that smile makeovers are something your patient may choose to have performed to improve their appearance, while full mouth rehabilitation is a necessary treatment, recommended after terminal dentition.
You may recommend full mouth rehabilitation to your patients for a number of reasons, including replacing teeth that have been lost or severely damaged, or to treat bite dysfunctions. Treatments that may be included in full mouth rehabilitation include:
- Dental bonding
- Dental bridges
- Dental crowns
- Dental fillings
- Dental implants
- Dental inlays and onlays
- Dental veneers
- Dentures (complete or partial)
- Gum disease treatments
- Root canals or other endodontic treatments
- Tooth extractions
Full mouth rehabilitation may require a collaborative effort between you, dental specialists, and even other healthcare providers to ensure a successful treatment. The treatment process involves multiple phases and office visits.
